Course Overview

This comprehensive programme equips participants with the knowledge and practical skills required to anticipate, prepare for, respond to, and recover from crises and risks affecting the tourism sector, while strengthening long-term resilience at destination and enterprise levels. The course integrates principles of tourism risk assessment, crisis preparedness, emergency response, business continuity, climate change adaptation, and post-crisis recovery planning. Participants will gain applied insight into how tourism destinations and businesses can manage shocks such as natural disasters, health emergencies, security incidents, climate impacts, and economic disruptions — particularly within African and Global South contexts where vulnerability and exposure are often high.
