Course Overview
This course equips participants with the frameworks, methods and tools to design, implement, monitor, evaluate and learn from development and community-based projects. It emphasises results-orientation, accountability, evidence-based decision making and stakeholder engagement for sustainable impact.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Understand the concepts, roles and importance of monitoring (M) and evaluation (E) in development/community projects.
- Design an M&E system aligned to project or programme objectives, including indicators, baselines and targets.
- Select, apply and manage appropriate data collection and analysis methods (qualitative & quantitative).
- Use the results of monitoring and evaluation to inform decision making, adaptive management and learning.
- Engage stakeholders (including communities, donors, governments) in M&E processes and ensure transparency and accountability.
- Integrate M&E into project planning, implementation, and closure to maximise effectiveness, sustainability and impact.
