Course Overview

The Migration, Governance & Human Rights Programme equips participants with the knowledge, frameworks, and practical skills required to manage migration effectively, protect migrants’ rights, and strengthen governance systems across Africa. The course explores AU migration policies, regional mobility frameworks, international human rights instruments, refugee protection standards, and migration governance mechanisms. Participants will develop competencies in migration policy analysis, border governance, human rights compliance, stakeholder coordination, and protection-sensitive approaches to migration management. Through case studies, legal analysis, practical exercises, and scenario-based simulations, the programme prepares professionals to support safe, orderly, and dignified migration while advancing Africa’s regional integration and development goals.
