Course Overview
The Food Systems Transformation & Policy Design Programme equips participants with the analytical, strategic, and policy-design skills required to transform food systems to be more sustainable, resilient, inclusive, and nutrition-sensitive. The programme recognises food systems as complex, interconnected systems linking production, processing, distribution, consumption, nutrition, health, environment, and livelihoods. The course integrates systems thinking, political economy analysis, policy design tools, and implementation strategies to bridge the gap between evidence, policy, and impact. It aligns with Agenda 2063, the SDGs (especially SDG 2), CAADP, the UN Food Systems Summit pathways, AfCFTA, and national food and nutrition security strategies. Participants gain hands-on experience in analysing food systems, designing coherent policies, and developing actionable reform agendas that balance economic growth, social equity, and environmental sustainability.
